FIBERNET fibers main objective is controlling drying shrinkage cracks in slab-on-grade applications. Previously mats or rolls of welded wire were used. The added costs of handling, delivery, storage, and injuries make synthetic fibers a better choice. During the pouring and finishing process, the polypropylene fibers spread through the concrete mix aiding in suspension of the aggregates and promoting uniform bleeding.

Fiber vs. Welded Fabric

Fibrillated Fiber

FIBERNET fibrillated fibers are the most effective synthetic fiber for controlling plastic shrinkage cracks. All fibers are manufactured from 100% virgin polypropylene. A special low foam finish coating prevents balling and promotes even dispersion of the fibers. Fibrillated fibers work well in precast, slab on grade, shotcrete, and commercial applications.

  • Maximum post peak flexural strength
  • Enhanced durability and toughness
  • Superior impact, abrasion and shatter resistance
  • Reduced permeability
  • Replacement for welded wire
  • Normal Dosage-1.5 pounds per yard
  • Meets ASTM-C1116 certification

Applications:

  • Slab on Grade
  • Sidewalks
  • Driveways
  • Precast
  • Shotcrete
  • Overlay & Topping
  • Slope Paving
  • Commercial Applications

Monofilament

FIBERNET monofilament fibers provide effective crack resistance with a smooth finish. All fibers are manufactured from 100% virgin polypropylene. A special low foam finish coating prevents balling and promotes even dispersion of the fibers. Monofilament fibers are an excellent addition to stamped or decorative concrete applications.

  • Excellent finish ability
  • Enhanced durability and toughness
  • Reduces plastic shrinkage cracks
  • Superior impact, abrasion and shatter resistance
  • Reduced permeability
  • Replacement for welded wire
  • Normal Dosage-1 pound per yard
  • Meets ASTM-C1116 certification

Applications:

  • Slab on Grade
  • Sidewalks
  • Driveways
  • Precast
  • Stucco

Fibrillated

The most effective fiber available for minimizing plastic shrinkage cracks. FIBERNET fibrillated fibers are proven to deliver maximum post peak flexural strength. They also deliver superior impact, abrasion and shatter resistance while decreasing permeability. Fibrillated fibers work well in precast, slab on grade, shotcrete, and commercial applications.

Monofilament

FIBERNET fibers are also available in monofilament, which provides effective crack resistance along with a smooth finish. Monofilament fibers are an excellent addition to stamped or decorative concrete applications. Another monofilament product is Micro Fiber. This fiber is a 6 denier product, much finer then the regular monofilament. The micro fiber will give the added benefits in a thinner less visible finished product.
